Before the MCD elections, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has been caught in a new controversy. BJP alleges that Kejriwal is going to pay the crores of rupees fees of lawyer Jethmalani from the public money for the defamation suit.
The logic of the Delhi Government is interesting. Sources of the Delhi government say that the case of defamation Arun Jaitley did on Kejriwal when he was on the Delhi CM, and not as a convenor of the Aam Aadmi Party. Therefore, the fees of the lawyer should also be filled with government money.
When this matter become public, Jethmalani has called Kejriwal “POOR” and he will fight the case for free.
Sources of Kejriwal also say that Arun Jaitley had said in the court that he fled the case of defamation against Arvind Kejriwal because he is CM and did not do so against Madhu Kishwar because he is a common citizen.
According to him, BJP is trying to woo the EVM scam and distract him. Because Kejriwal is raising the EVM scam.
Delhi BJP spokesperson Tejinder Pal Bagga has tweeted two letters, in which he has accused of paying crores of rupees to Jethmalani. The first letter was written by the secretary of Ram Jethmalani to the CM Secretary. It has said that the retainer ship fee for appointment of Ram Jethmalani as a lawyer is one crore, as well as Rs 22 lakh for every hearing of the court.
The second letter has been claimed to be part of the file of Law Minister Manish Sisodia. In which Sisodia has written that as soon as the bills come from Jethmalani, they should be paid and this file should not be sent to Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal for approval.
It is reported that Jethmalani has gone to court 13 times for Kejriwal. In this way, Delhi Government will have to pay 3 crores 86 lakh.
In this entire case, Ram Jethmalani has now brought a new twist. Speaking to the ANI, Jethmalani said, “I only take money from the rich, I work for free for the poor. All this has been done by Arun Jaitley who is scared of my cross-examination. If the Delhi government or he (Kejriwal) does not pay, I will call him a poor client.”
Even now if govt (Delhi) doesn't pay or he can't pay will appear for free, will treat him(Kejriwal) as one of my poor clients: Ram Jethmalani pic.twitter.com/YwT9OdwiOI

What is the matter?
Arvind Kejriwal had accused Arun Jaitley of corruption in Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA). Jaitley was the president of DDCA till the year 2013. They held this office for 13 years. After Kejriwal’s allegations, Arun Jaitley personally asked Kejriwal to withdraw his statement and asked for the apology. After not doing this, Jaitley went to court against the allegations and filed a case of defamation against Kejriwal and six of his party leaders. Apart from this, he has also filed a criminal defamation case in Patiala House Court in this case.
